“Sugeng Rawuh”, or “Welcome” to TIME, The Tourism Indonesia Mart & Expo.
It is a great honour that Lombok and Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, have been selected for the second year in succession to host Indonesia’s most prestigious Travel Mart. We are especially proud that the event will be held in Lombok’s most famous tourist quarter the beautiful “Senggigi Beach”. TIME will run from the 12th – 15th October 2010.
This major event will be your window to view the amazing beauty and diversity of Indonesia. To become familiar with the remarkable tourist attractions this astonishing archipelago has to offer, and experience firsthand many of the cultures found within each unique island.
Lombok and Sumbawa form West Nusa Tenggara, a province which offers some exceptional natural resources and tourist attractions such as Rinjani Mountain, and La Key Beach at Hu’u, in the Dombu district infamous for its surfing and multi break barrels! Surrounding islands such as Gili Trawangan and Pantai Kute offer impressive diving and beaches.
Between the mountains and the sea, Lombok is also world renowned for its South Sea Pearls which can be found in abundance about our shores, the quality of which are considered by experts to be some of the best in the world.
Traditional villages such as Dusun Sade, display interesting civilizations of Lombok’s indigenous people the “Sasaks”. In Sukarare you will find Tenun ikat (beautiful hand woven materials) and in Banyu Mulek local grabah or clay, is molded to make some of Lombok’s greatest primitive pottery designs that are exported around the world.
TIME is the core event that has promoted “Visit Lombok Sumbawa 2012”, and the involvements of all sectors in Lombok are now ready to support this year’s TIME.
With the Lombok International Airport and improving infrastructure, together with the progress of new developments still growing in Indonesia; we are proud to have the opportunity to show Indonesia to the world, through one of her most representative destinations, Lombok.
I would like to say on behalf of all the people of West Nusa Tenggara, “we welcome you with open hearts”. We hope that through this event, you will consider Indonesia to be as we do “a world class tourist destination!”.
Sincerely yours,
TGH. MUHAMMAD ZAINUL MAJDI, MA
Governor of West Nusa Tenggara
